These days, electronic music lovers have a plethora of festivals to look forward to year-round. Among these popular events is Movement: Detroit Electronic Music Festival. Since its conception in 2000, DEMF has catered to the wide spectrum of the electronic scene by hosting a massive three-day festival with both seasoned artists and up-and-comers in the city that witnessed the birth of techno.
Produced by Paxahau Event Productions, DEMF is widely recognized for attracting thousands of domestic and international festival-goers each year during Memorial Day weekend. With yet another impressive lineup featuring legends Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Carl Craig, dozens of EDM rising stars and hip-hop icons, this year’s festival promises to offer another memorable weekend for guests.
Before kicking things off on May 26, Movement Executive Director Jason Huvaere opened up to discuss the festival’s origins, how it’s changed over the years and what newcomers can expect.
